Transformation Underway: Khurja Junction, Near Upcoming Noida Airport, to Get a Facelift

Khurja Junction, strategically located less than 30 kilometers from the soon-to-be-operational Noida International Airport, is set for a significant overhaul. Identified as one of the ten railway stations in Uttar Pradesh for redevelopment this year, Khurja Junction is part of the ambitious ‘Amrit Bharat’ scheme.

Joining Khurja Junction on the revamp agenda are stations like Mirzapur, Sonbhadra, Chunar, and others falling within the Prayagraj Division of the North Central Railway.

Modern Amenities Await Under the redevelopment plan, these stations will be upgraded with modern amenities reminiscent of those found in airports. Passengers can expect facilities such as lounges, spaces for business meetings, and complimentary WiFi services.

Khurja, famed for its pottery and ceramics, is located in the Bulandshahr district of western Uttar Pradesh, a stone’s throw away from Jewar in Gautam Buddh Nagar, where the Noida International Airport is taking shape. Commercial operations at the airport are slated to commence by year-end.

Efforts are also underway to enhance transport connectivity by linking the Noida airport with the Chola railway station in Bulandshahr. Plans for the Rapid Rail Transit System (RRTS) and metro rail connectivity are also in progress, promising a seamless travel experience in the region.
