Haryana Initiates Phase 1 Development of 1,000-acre Global City Project in Gurugram

The Haryana government has commenced work on Phase 1 of the Global City project, situated along the Dwarka Expressway in Gurugram, covering 1,000 acres. This mixed land-use project aims to create a modern urban landscape with residential and commercial spaces, advanced infrastructure, and utilities. The first phase, set to be completed by December 2026, involves constructing roads, electricity, water supply, and other essential infrastructure across 587 acres, with an estimated cost of ₹940 crore. The Global City project will feature commercial towers, offices, residential spaces, retail areas, educational institutions, healthcare facilities, innovation centers, and green spaces, along with an internal mass rapid transportation system. The state government has actively promoted and marketed this project since its conceptualization in 2019, with the tender for the first phase awarded in September last year. The development is poised to transform Gurugram’s cityscape and enhance its overall urban infrastructure.
